Description
This set of cardigan, hat (with optional ear-flaps), booties, and blanket will keep a precious child snuggly and warm. It uses a light worsted or DK weight yarn. The cardigan and blanket are worked at 5 sts = 1″. The hat and booties are worked on a smaller needle at 5.5 sts = 1″ for a firmer fabric. The simple combination of garter stitch and blocks lends itself to playing with colors. The photo shows the set in a solid color with a contrasting stripe at the borders, and a second cardigan is worked in stripes of 4 different colors. A variegated or self-striping yarn would also be fun.
